WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT

Meet your Around Lisbon guide at your central Lisbon hotel and depart for the fishing village of Peniche in a climate-controlled vehicle. On arrival, board a boat for the 45-minute crossing to Berlenga Grande, a postcard-perfect island characterized by secluded caverns and twisting rock formations.

After your boat drops anchor at the tiny island’s port, you’ll enjoy some free time to pick up refreshments or stretch your legs with a stroll on the beach. Then, board a smaller boat destined for St John the Baptist Fort (Forte de São João Baptista), a 17th-century fortress built from the ruins of an old monastery.

Explore the stronghold with your guide and hear fascinating stories of invasions and pirate sieges. Then, uncover the island’s flora and fauna with a 1-hour walk through the Berlengas Nature Reserve (Reserva Natural das Berlengas).

Back at port, break for lunch at one of the seafront eateries (own expense) or, if you've brought food with you, have a picnic on the beach.

When the time comes, join back up with your group for the included cave boat excursion in a glass-bottom boat.

After, travel back to Lisbon, where your tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel.

Marcos was an amazing tour guide and was very knowledgeable about the history of the Island! The island of Berlengas was absolutely stunning and the old military for was really cool to explore. The tour also included a glass bottom boat ride to visit the caves around the island which I thought was a great addition. Such an affordable tour for everything that's included. My only regret is not bringing a swimsuit to enjoy the water!

Took a day trip from Lisbon to go here and it was absolutely worth it. Amazing scenery, great guide, absolutely worth the time and money. If you enjoy swimming make sure to bring your swim ware, as that was the most enjoyable part for me.

The host was exceptional. She was very knowledgeable and caring. She was very helpful to my wife who gets sea sick. There is an hr boat ride to the island where most of the activities take place. The hike across the island is no joke but the views and beach activities after definitely make up for it.

Highlight of our stay in Lisbon, an absolute must do! Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and the island was beautiful. The Kayak tour was the best part!
